My Look Back on the most Unforgettable Spring Ball

Spring Ball. An event concreted into our minds, triggering our anxiety and over in a blink of an eye. 
The lead up to Spring Ball was extremely stressful, finding the perfect dress, date, shoes, accessories and getting that Spring Ball Bod on time! It was almost as stressful as the actual day! And so to help you limit your stress for any event that you're going to be attending that is similar to our Spring Ball, I've decided to write this blog post with a breakdown of my Spring Ball prep, experience and some must follow advice for the ultimate Spring Ball experience!

The 13th of October - Spring Ball 

The day has come! I woke up bright and early and drank a fabulous protein smoothie before heading to the gym for a quick power session. 

After I was finished with my session, I came home, hopped in the bath and had a total pamper hour. Complete with a Charcoal Face Mask and The Tan Lab's Exfoliate Powder. 

I whipped up a quick avocado, tomato and cheese wrap for lunch before I headed off to Sorbet Bedford Centre for my ultimate makeover. From 12:45 to 16:00 I had the absolute best time getting an amazing mani pedi, my hair curled and my makeup done by the amazing in-house Makeup Artist, Lily!

At 16:15 I arrived at home and raced upstairs to put on my dress, heels and the perfect accessories. At 16:30 we started with individual photos at home and at 17:10 we left for pre drinks and more photos!

By 19:00 we were enjoying our beautiful buffet of pumpkin fritters, sushi, halloumi bites and mini feta and spinach quiches. This was followed by lots more photos and LOTS of dancing ;)

At 22:00 we raced home to change for our afterparty. The night definitely ended on a high, with new friendships having been formed and our dancing shoes in hand (seriously, please don't where heels the whole night) I have never had such an amazing night. 

So with Spring Ball being an ultimate success I thought I would share a few of my tips with you so that you can make your future night just as memorable. 

My Spring Ball Advice:

1. Make sure your date is lots of fun and easy to talk to - It's definitely better to take a friend

2. Book all your appointments in advance 

3. Give yourself lots of time to get to places - never be in a rush 

4. Squeeze in at least a 30 minute session at the gym the morning of Spring Ball 

5. Enjoy every moment of getting ready for your Spring Ball and of your Spring Ball 

6. Don't worry about a thing - everything will fall into place 

I really hope that your Spring Ball is as amazing as mine was! Fall in love with the moments and make the best memories.

My Favourite Guilt Free Fruit & Oat Muffins

I've come to the conclusion that about 90% of both women and men are either concerned about their weight or trying to lose it and so we are always watching what we put in our mouths. This week has been a particularly stressful week for me and most of my anxiety was food related. If you have read my blog post about my Tips to Losing Weight the Healthy Way you'll know that I'm not a big fan of yo-yo dieting or keeping my body from eating what it wants. If I'm craving some chocolate, 2 blocks of 85% dark chocolate won't kill me however I know when to draw the line. I love my body and I want to keep it healthy and happy and so I make sure to eat everything in moderation. Because I struggled with cravings & temptations this week, I knew I needed to create something to keep my body happy and my mind guilt free and I figured there was some other peeps out here struggling with these too! And so, I decided to share with you my new Favourite no sugar, no lactose, no gluten (A.K.A guilt free ;) ) Fruit & Oat Muffins. 


2 Cups of Gluten Free Oats 
1 Tablespoons of Baking Powder
2 Eggs 
1 Grated Pear 
1 Grated Apple 
5 Strawberries Chopped 
1 Cup of Almond Milk
 2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon 
2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup 


Preheat your oven to 180 Degrees Celsius. 

Combine your eggs, maple syrup and cinnamon. 

Next take 1 cup of your oats and blitz it in a food processor to get a powder texture. If you don't have a food processor you can use Gluten Free Oat Flour  ;) 

Combine your 1 cup of oats powder to your eggs, maple syrup and cinnamon and mix. Next fold in your other cup of oats. 

Add your milk. Tip: if your batter looks too dry you can add some more milk. 

Finally fold in your grated pear, apple and chopped strawberries. 

Grease or Spray and Cook your muffin tray and spoon in your mixture. 

Cook until the top of your muffins are golden (20 Minutes) and when a knife is inserted to the middle of the muffin, it comes out dry. 

And there you have it! I also adore using this as a crumble for desert or breakfast. You can either toast them for breakfast or you can crumble them up and add them to some ice cream for desert.

The 10 Items that Complete my Beauty Basket

There are many, many things that every girl needs in her day to day life and a beauty basket is definitely one of them. Having a basket that has every item you need in order to complete your daily beauty routine is essential to making sure your skincare routine is followed. This week I’m going to be showing you my 10 must have beauty items that complete my beauty basket.

Eucerin Even Brighter Day Cream & Hyaluron-Filler & Elasticity Night Cream

These two Eucerin products are not only the latest addition to my beauty basket but also my favourite products. By applying the Even Brighter Day Cream to my face and neck every morning I am reducing the appearance of pigmentation for an even and bright complexion and the Hyaluron-Filler is helping me improve the elasticity of my skin and plumping up possible wrinkles. You know what they say, prevention is better than cure - it's never too early to start ;) 

Bubble Purifying Charcoal Face Mask

I love keeping a face mask on hand just incase I have an extremely bad break out and this Bubble Purifying Charcoal Face Mask is without a doubt my number one mask. The Oxygen Rich foaming face mask reacts with the air to make a a deep cleansing foam for a more radiant and clear complexion. This is definitely the one mask I have to have in my Beauty Basket all the time. 

The Tan Lab’s Micro-Exfoliant Powder

I absolutely adore this exfoliant powder from The Tan Lab and if you've read my review of their products, click here if you haven't, then you'll know that I use this product when preparing my skin for the perfect self tan. After mixing this powder with some water to make paste, you simply apply it to your skin and rinse afterwards leaving your skin baby-bum smooth. 

Nature’s Choice Activated Charcoal

I keep this activated charcoal in my Beauty Basket just for teeth whitening purposes! Wow, I cannot even begin to describe how well this works! All you need to do is add toothpaste to your toothbrush and dip it into your activated charcoal powder. It's as simple as that! 

Benefit’s Pore Professional Pearl Primer

Oh my gosh, I have never had such an amazing primer. Benefit is really "doing the most" with this pearl primer. I love to put this on my skin if I'm going without makeup or decide against foundation for a more natural look. 

Hair Placenta

I love to add this to my hair after I hop out the shower and have washed my hair. It's perfect for strengthening and protecting your gorgeous locks. 

Nose Strips

After a long day there's nothing better than hoping into the bath with a nice cup of tea and adding a nose strip to your nose to remove all those nasty blackheads. I love to keep white & charcoal nose strips in my Beauty Basket just for those days. 

Clear & Colour Nail Varnish

I love keeping Revlon's clear nail varnish that I apply to my nails weekly to strengthen and protect them and one white or baby pink (my favourite colours) nail varnish in my Beauty Basket incase I'm in the mood for some colour.

Nail file

I swear these have legs of their own because whenever I'm in desperate need of one I can never find it. That's why I always keep one in my Beauty Basket so I always know where to find one.

The Body Shop’s Body Butter

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. This is the key to looking fresh and fabulous always and so I continuously make sure to apply my body butter straight from my Beauty Basket.

And that’s them! I hope you love your beauty basket as much as I do after adding all of these fabulous products and that having them so close by makes it super easy to remember to use them!

Embracing the Healthy Eating Concept

As eating healthier gets harder and the pressure to look your best gets more severe we are continously looking for ways to motivate ourselfs to get off the couch, into the gym and consume limited calories each day. Healthy eating has become the one more job we don’t need. The meal prep, the continous calorie counting and the guilt that comes with eating anything your dietician has on her “DEADLY FOOD” list.

For me, it was a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from until I realized that my mindset towards healthy eating was wrong. I needed to look at the bigger picture, to embrace why I was supposed to be eating healthy, clean foods. And so I thought about it and I finally understood that I was doing this to keep my body and my mind happy. That eating healthy was actually making my skin glow, saving my family money, improving my moods, boosting my energy and preventing a silent disease that runs in my family, Type 2 Diabieties.

Until I was 14 I was overweight, unhealthy and bread was definitely my friend and so, losing weight was extremely difficult. I was at a high risk of having diabieties and I was miserable with how I looked. Even though I knew what to do to change my lifestyle it was extremely difficult. And then I came to terms with the healthy eating concept and so I went about changing my diet because I loved my body and wanted to be healthy. I realized I COULD change how I looked and how I saw myself. That anything was possible if I understood why it was needed to be done.

If your food choices don’t measure up, but you’re not looking to lose weight, there are still reasons to watch what you’re putting in your mouth. Healthy foods also play an extremely important part in maintaining your skin. Our body has a natural detoxification process that is commonly known as sweating. This means that the toxins your body is trying to get rid of will come into direct contact with your skin, explaining why unhealthy diets cause bad skin! If you swap junk foods for nutritious, clean foods you will consume the necessary amounts of fatty acids and antioxidants that your body needs in order to reduce the amount of toxins your body has to get rid of. The less toxins coming into contact with your skin, the more fresh and blemish free it will look.

A healthy diet also means better sleep. Getting high quality sleep is essential for improved moods, concentration, stress levels and maintaining hormones that regulate a healthy weight. A healthy diet is crucial for getting that well deserved rest your body needs because when you consume those beautifully healthy foods, a hormone called serotonin is released, setting you up for a fantastic slumber. Because a healthy diet and quality sleep is linked so closely together, a healthy diet also means no more quick energy bursts or mid-afternoon slumps

  Instead of grabbing a packet of chips or a banana, aim for something that will give you long lasting energy instead of a quick “burst” such as a packet of raw almonds or chickpeas.

These are just some of the many benefits of eating a healthy diet. Many people believe that healthy eating may only be for people who want to lose weight however this could not be further from the truth. 

We all need to be eating a healthy diet in order to allow our bodies to function to the best of their abilities and for us to live longer and better lives.
